Rinse and drain the lettuce, cut into bite-size pieces and put into a bowl.
Cut the pepper into thin strips and onion into thin rings and add both to the bowl.
Finely chop the basil and cut the tofu into bite-size pieces. Add them both into the bowl together alongside the olives.
Add the olive oil and balsamic vinegar to a mason jar. Screw the lid on tightly and shake vigorously until combined. Season with salt and pepper.
Add the dressing and toss lightly until coated evenly.
